Carl Liepold
Carl Liepold Airshows encourages everyone to pursue their dreams. Carl performs high performance Aerobatics in his highly modified Yak-55M, a 360 hp supercharged beast he lovingly calls Natasha...
Natasha sports a 9 cylinder radial that makes lots of smoke and noise. She rolls at an astonishing rate, and performs amazingly.
Carl always wanted to be a fighter pilot, ever since watching the Thunderbirds perform in Sacramento. He was very disappointed when he found out in high school that he needed glasses and that was the end of his air force career! Many years later, when he was asked by someone very dear to him, what he wanted for his birthday he responded - a ride in a Tomcat, but I don't need anything. He got a ride in a Pitts S-2B biplane - and didn't even know what that was - from then on he knew that was all he wanted to do. He eventually competed in IAC competition aerobatics and in 2009 started flying airshows. He is very passionate about flying aerobatics because it was his dream and he encourages everyone to pursue their own dreams and never give up.
